We have poured our entire terroir into our wines. We have spent months adding the land’s fresh waters, light breezes, woodland fragrances and summer light, along with the coolness of the garden at dawn. Our wines are full of the Sannes terroir’s unique sensitivity and the Luberon’s purity. Through our work and care, we become one with the rhythm of the landscape as we create our wines.
The Sannes vineyard flourishes in the heart of the stunning Luberon Regional Nature Park, which is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a region ideal for organic crops. The Sannes terroir boasts rich soil. Its rocky scree and clay soils produce rich, well-structured wines; its marl and molasse stones give them a roundness; and its ‘safre’ soils give birth to elegant wines that reveal a wonderful complexity of flavour. The limestone gravel naturally regulates the vine stock’s temperature and moisture levels. Sannes has 35 of its 70 hectares dedicated to vines.
Our vines are grown at 300 to 400 metres above sea level. The cool nights allow them to rest and rehydrate after the summer day’s heat. This gives our grapes more freshness and flavour. Luberon’s Mediterranean climate, with a few alpine influences, bestows on us an exceptional amount of sunshine and a mistral wind that naturally cleanses our vines.
Syrah and Grenache, combined with old Carignan vines, reveal their full flavour potential at Sannes. Our rosé wines deliver a gourmet, varied palette lifted by a wonderful intensity. Grenache Blanc, Rolle and Ugni Blanc also love Sannes. The white wines created from those grapes are extremely elegant and generous, with mineral notes. Regardless of their colour, our wines all share one thing: freshness.
